The Stature of the Fullness of Christ - Mission Report 2011

Mudete, Kenya, April 2011

David Mantock, Switzerland

Once again I have been privileged to serve God in Kenya. I thank him for the abundance of his grace that allowed me to minister to the people of Mudete; without his help it could not have been a success. I am truly thankful for the support and prayers of the International Church of Berne and for the backing of my wife. Thank you all for making it such a joy to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. All glory and honour goes to him for the blessings that we shared at this precious time.

Mudete Mission Report by Job Zilaba, Switzerland

The Lord is the Alpha and Omega. After missing our connecting flight in Amsterdam, God organised for us a wonderful time for praying for the mission and the people whose hearts the Lord had prepared to receive the gospel of the Cross in Kenya. I personally felt disturbed, but the problem of the airplane turned out to be a blessing to me, I had time to joke and speak freely with my pastor and also know him more as a joking, caring man of God, and of course my prayer was that when we are in Kenya, the man of God speaks to the Lord’s people.

When we got to Mudete, the people were so happy to receive us and also looked ready to hear what the Lord has put on the heart of his servant. And when day one came, everybody had a pen and notepad with him or her, not only to hear the preaching but also to learn, and the Lord used his servant mightily in that he taught the message that touched the hearts of the people. Such messages cause a Christian to ask himself or herself about their Christian life. And this was a discussion going on in the local language among the people, about how the message has touched their hearts and how they have been blessed. Married Christians learned how to love and also testfied about it, and they looked to have grown in faith and in the Word of God, and not only they but I also happened to learn together with them.

The mission ended well and the people wished that it would go on for more days and that Pastor David would come back and teach. He certainly has a calling to teach the people of East Africa the Word of God.

My thanks go to the International Church of Berne, by whose help we were able to go to Kenya. Thanks for the prayers they prayed for the wonderful mission. And many thanks go to the church in Mudete, their pastor and the sisters who cooked wonderful meals for us while in Kenya. May the good Lord bless you all, and I hope to see you lovely people again.

God bless you all.

Testimonies

Hi Rev. Mantock, Your visit to us, that's early April 2011 in Western Kenya, meant a lot regarding our spiritual life. I am a young pastor, and you impacted me so much that my conscience now longs for eternity. Your lessons, "The Stature of the Fullness of Christ," "This Do and Live; for I fear God," "Walk Worthy of the Vocation," encouraged me especially (also that worldly culture is not God's intent). Faith, prayer, warnings, etc. empowered my stand as a servant of God. I long to see you again. Greet our beloved brethren in the church in Switzerland. Amen.

Hi Pastor David, You really blessed me when you preached to us. Your message was so touching, especially when you taught about forgiveness. It is very hard for me to forgive and forget. The message really changed me and I forgave those who had wronged me. May God bless you. Come again, Pastor. Forgive us where we did not do well.

Praise God. I learnt a lot during the seminar at Victory Harvest Church; it had a great impact on my walk of salvation. I am always sharing my newfound knowledge with everyone I can. I feel like a blind person who has just had his eyes opened. May God uplift you.

Pastor David, I honestly thank God for using you to speak to my heart. The lesson on love and marriage has drastically changed my life and that of my entire household. You're one of the preachers I have enjoyed interpreting for in the few years I have been in service for the Lord. I also take this chance to apologize for any miscondcut as an individual and as a church. God bless you and the church in Switzerland.

As the host pastor I was blessed with Pastor David Mantock’s teachings, especially on contending for your faith, so that with the Lord we can win.
