The Bible says that our moderation should be known to all, so it is well pleasing to our Lord when we keep our passions in check. If we love his law and strive to do it, we are not easily offended, which brings us nearer to God's heart in a beautiful way. God's heart of love is not easily provoked, and we must endeavour to be the same. Even so, life is challenging and that is why we need a saviour and guide. For us to succeed in all aspects of our lives, we need to be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus, the Saviour. We need to understand that his love is so great that he gave his life for us, and this was just the beginning of the grace which he sheds upon us. The Lord Jesus through his grace takes care of so many things that would otherwise overburden us. We did not deserve to be saved, and we do not deserve most things that the Lord bestows upon us, but we can have confidence and trust that the Lord takes great pleasure in our well-being. This may be difficult for us to believe, even as it was difficult for the apostles when Jesus ascended up to heaven, telling them it was better for them that he went away. But lo and behold, the day of Pentecost fully came, and on that day they all received the gift of Holy Spirit that guides men into all truth, as Jesus had promised. This gift fully equipped the disciples to glorify God, and on that wonderful day of Pentecost many were able to testify of this. It was a great witness that brought many to repentance and enabled them to receive Christ. Let us remember that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Spirit. Another precious truth is that the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man for profit. No wonder God is telling us that we should not be ignorant concerning spiritual gifts!


Sunday 06.05.2012 – Love is not easily provoked - dm

(Love) Does not behave itself rudely, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, keeps no record of evil; (1 Cor. 13:5)

Great peace have they who love your law: and nothing shall offend them. (Ps. 119:165)

Hold fast the pattern of sound words, which you have heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. That good thing which was committed unto you keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. (2 Tim. 1:13-14)

Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. (Phil. 4:5)


Sunday 13.05.2012 – Be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus - dm

And you has he made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins: (Eph. 2:1)

Even when we were dead in sins, has made us alive together with Christ, (by grace you are saved;) (Eph. 2:5)

You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. (2 Tim. 2:1)

Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favor my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. And my tongue shall speak of your righteousness and of your praise all the day long. (Ps. 35:27-28)


Sunday 20.05.2012 – The Ascension - ae

And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry you in the city of Jerusalem, until you are endued with power from on high. (Luke 24:49)

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. (John 16:7)

And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
(Acts 1:9)

Being confident of this very thing, that he who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
(Phil. 1:6)


Sunday 27.05.2012 – Pentecost - ae

But when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. (John 16:13)

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
(Acts 2:4)

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. You know that you were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as you were led. Therefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Spirit. (1 Cor. 12:1-3)

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man for profit. (1 Cor. 12:7)
