The best help we can give to anyone is giving them more of our Lord Jesus and less of ourselves. It is this sense of self-denial that allows us to bear the weaknesses of others and to encourage and edify them. It is also clear from the Scriptures that we must lay down our lives for the brethren; indeed this helps us to further understand God's heart, because he laid down his life for us. Love does not seek her own but rather prefers to bless others. We who were once afar off have been brought near by the blood of Christ, so we know the blessings of God and should want to share them. Of course the greatest blessing is accepting the Lord Jesus and receiving the gift of eternal life. This is the ultimate healing and greatest blessing of all. It is important for us to remember how great a blessing this is and how privileged we are. We have passed from darkness unto light! In order for us to remain in that light, we must walk by the spirit. We should not be ignorant of spiritual things, so it is good that we are ready and well instructed on how to use them. God has promised that we are complete and able to do every good work that is well pleasing in his sight through Jesus Christ. Amen.
Sunday 04.03.2012 – Love seeks not her own - dm
By this perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. (1 John 3:16)
[Love] Does not behave itself rudely, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, keeps no record of evil; (1 Cor. 13:5)
We then that are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbor for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached you fell on me. (Rom. 15:1-3)
Neglect not the gift that is in you, which was given you through prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give yourself wholly to them; that your progress may appear to all. Take heed unto yourself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this you shall both save yourself, and them that hear you. (1 Tim. 4:14-16)
Sunday 11.03.2012 – How to be blessed by God - ae
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour: (1 Pet. 5:8)
He that believes on him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:18)
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off are made near by the blood of Christ.
(Eph. 2:13)
But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. (1 Cor. 15:10)
Sunday 18.03.2012 – The way, the truth, and the life - dmJesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)
Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
(Matthew 11:28-30)
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. (3 John 1:4)
The thief comes not, but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep. (John 10:10-11)
Sunday 25.03.2012 – Let us also walk in the spirit - aeIf we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. (Gal. 5:25)
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. (John 10:28-29)
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. (Gal. 5:16)
Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. (1 Cor. 12:1)
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another various kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But in all these works that one and same Spirit, dividing to every man individually as he will. (1 Cor. 12:8-11)
Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you complete in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. (Heb. 13:20-21)
