From the Pulpit - April 2011
The moment we were born again into the Kingdom of God, we may have realized God’s love for us for the first time; walking and growing as a Christian makes us understand his love more fully. We experience his love and blessings every day. But to keep ourselves in the love of God takes effort on our part: We do not jump out of God’s love by giving heed to rumours, reacting harshly, making wrong judgements, which we later regret. Our calling is much nobler than that, and as part of God's household we share the precious truth of knowing Jesus as Lord. This is the thing that is common to us all and binds us together. We know what it is to be led by God and what it means to fear him, because his wisdom and truth is far beyond what we can grasp with our own understanding. That is why it is so important that we walk in his truth. There are many impressive theories in this world, but the only truth that sets us free is Jesus, our living Lord and Saviour. He is risen! This truth we must keep burning in our hearts all the time, for to know what we have been spared from and how much we have received fortifies us against the trials of this life. To know that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ and that he is always with us will give us the courage to prevail in the face of adversity. The more we grow in appreciation for what has been achieved on the Cross, the more we will be encouraged in all situations, as we come to realize how much our Lord loves us. Amen.

That they all may be one; as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that you have sent me. And the glory which you gave me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and you in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that you have sent me, and have loved them, as you have loved me. (John 17:21-23)

And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that any of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. (Acts 4:32)
Therefore seeing we also are surrounded with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which does so easily ensnare us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. (Heb. 12:1-2)
Therefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire. (Heb. 12:28-29)
